Robin and Linda Williams: Storms In Life

Dear Friends,

The term "never a dull moment" comes to mind as we think of all we have on our plate at the moment. Each day is full to the brim anyway and then a storm comes seemingly out of nowhere, making life even more interesting. And, what a storm it was.

As we write, we are two of the three million people in the mid Atlantic states still without power.  And the good news is that the temperatures have been hovering in the mid-90s. But don't worry about your friends Robin and Linda. We're fine. During the day everything "seems " normal around our place, but it's at night that we become aware of how different life is. Everything is completely dark except for a solar sidewalk light here and there.  It's been interesting navigating around the house with kerosene lanterns and candles and going to bed early. Luckily the band vehicle has a generator on it so we have been using it to keep the refrigerator and freezer running. Slowly but surely our friends and neighbors in the area are getting their power back so we're confident that it won't be long before we, once again, know the joy of running water.  Until then we'll continue giving the chain saw - and ourselves - a workout as we clean up all the trash that the storm left in its wake.

There's some big news. We have a new agent. We are pleased to announce that we have joined forces with Trish Galfano at TG2 Artists (www.TG2artists.com) and she will be booking us exclusively from now on.  She is a smart, capable woman whom we like alot and she has a roster of artists that we fit in with well. This is a big step for us. We don't make these kinds of changes very often but we are confident that this is the right thing to do and the right time to do it. We are looking forward to working with Trish. When you get a moment, check out her web site.

There's some other big news. Red House Records has announced that our new CD, "These Old Dark Hills," will be released on August 14. But more importantly for us is that we'll have copies of it for our gigs starting this weekend at The Kirk Avenue Music Hall in Roanoke. We're so pleased to have it in hand and, once again, we'd like to thank Jim Rooney and the musicians for making the studio experience so memorable. We love the CD package and need to thank Eric Peltoniemi at Red House for the design and Senor McGuire for the outstanding photos of the two of us. And by the way, Linda makes her debut as a photographer with a picture of our house that is used on the back cover.

Bumper Sticker Of The Month: I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Check out our itinerary and come see us if we get close.  Feel free to bring or send a friend. Come visit us on Facebook. And keep cool.

Your pals,
Robin and Linda
