Robin and Linda Williams
Devil Of A Dream
Sugar Hill Records
Robin and Linda Williams are chroniclers of the
American experience, and are specifically southern in
their reference. They have an uncanny ability to put
poetry and music together into memorable anthems
for everything from the death of Hank Williams, a
reprise of their "Rolling and Rambling," to the tale of
life lived in the "Green Summertime."
They have co-written 11 of
the songs herein with Jerome Clark including "Things I've
Learned." The snappy lead off of the album features both a great
chorus and melody, a trademark of the Williams writing. The
only cover on the album is the Everly Brothers' I Wonder
If l Care As Much." "So, It's Like This, Man" finds the Williams
in an uncharacteristic talking blues mode. It works very well.
