Robin and Linda Williams: September's Storms and Sunny Skies

Dear Friends,
To leave or not to leave, that is the question. We're on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with a hurricane heading our way. Should we leave late or should we leave Earl-y? Pardon the bad humor. It's interesting being here and watching the powers-that-be go through the contortions of whether or when to make the call to evacuate. Nobody here wants to lose the income from the last big weekend of the summer. But they're making the right decisions. The hurricane watch has been upgraded to a hurricane warning, so we're going to write this letter and get on the road.

But the sunny skies will follow. Next week we'll join Garrison Keillor and his fine troupe and will travel with them for five days. Then we'll be busy putting the finishing touches on this year's Fortune Williams Music Festival, September 24th and 25th. We and our co-host, Jimmy Fortune, will be there both days and this year's lineup includes Patty Loveless, Darrell Scott, Don Schlitz, Rivers Rutherford, Jimmy Gaudreau and Moondi Klein. There are still some tickets left for those of you who are interested. We'll have two days of great music. Go to www.fortunewilliamsmusicfestival.org for information or call (540) 332-7850 for tickets.

Last year we went down to Big Stone Gap, VA and recorded with a fiery and brilliant cello player, Dave Eggar (www.daveeggarmusic.com). His CD, "Kingston Morning" has just been released and there's an interesting version of our song "High Atmosphere" on it. It was fun being part of that project.

Hope this finds you all well, busy and happy. We'll look forward to seeing you at one of the stops along the way.

Your pals, Robin and Linda
